Following on from yesterday's post on the way that nature finds a way to regenerate itself, this design focuses more on the fragility of beauty. It's called EUROPEAN SUMMER and is reminiscent of Renaissance stillife paintings that together with a vase of beautiful blossoms, would put a clock as a reminder that all things are fleeting especially beauty. I walked up the mountain this evening with a group

I walked up the mountain this evening with a group of fellow Cape Tonians who love the mountain as much as I do. We watched as the Cape Town fire continued to burn on the slopes of Table Mountain and we spoke about the beauty that would emerge in a few months time after the last two days of devastation. And I realised, that like our fynbos, which is unique and regenerates after fire, so too are the people that live here. Cape Tonians in the last 2 years have lived through multiple devastating fires, a drought, daily loadshedding and covid. We pick ourselves up, dust off the ash, get stuck in at helping and find the silver lining. Proud of my town and very proud of it's beautiful inhabitants.
